Real channels, real multiples

Every tile below came out of a single scan across eight channels, ranked by how far each upload beat its own channel. That scan cost 24 of the 10,000 API units the free key gives you each day.

Three steps to your free API key

Google gives every account 10,000 API units a day, enough for roughly 1,100 channel scans.

01

Open the Google Cloud console

Sign in with any Google account. Google requires 2-step verification before it lets you in, so turn that on first if it is off.

02

Enable the YouTube Data API

Create a project and switch on YouTube Data API v3. The app links straight to both screens.

03

Create the key and paste it

Bangermap checks the key answers, then starts scanning. The key is stored on your Mac and sent only to Google.

The key stays on your Mac. Requests go straight to Google.

Common questions

Does it connect to my channel?
No. There is no OAuth and no channel login. Bangermap reads public data only, the same data the API serves to anyone with a key.
How much research does the free quota cover?
Google's default allocation is 10,000 units a day per key. A 200-video scan of one channel costs 9 units, so a day covers roughly 1,100 channels. Keyword search is capped separately at 100 calls a day, which is why discovery runs through the channel graph.
Where does my data live?
On your machine, in a local cache that expires within 30 days so results stay current. Export any result set to CSV whenever you want it elsewhere.
Which machines does it run on?
macOS on Apple Silicon, signed and notarized by Adesia SRL.
What does it cost?
One purchase, no subscription and no per-channel fee. The price goes out with the launch email.
