What you need to run it
A free YouTube Data API key, which you create in your own Google account in two screens and the app links you to both. The key is free from Google and carries 10,000 units a day. Bangermap talks to YouTube directly from your machine on that key, so your research never reaches us and there is nothing for us to meter. Google Cloud requires 2-step verification on the account, so turn that on first if it is off.
What happens after you pay
- Your licence key arrives by email with the receipt, and the download link.
- Install the app, on macOS from the disk image and on Windows from the installer, then paste the key on first launch to activate that machine.
- The app rechecks the licence online now and then and keeps working offline for two weeks between checks. Losing the email is recoverable at bangermap.com/license.
Try it before paying
The browser tools run the same scoring engine as the app, free, with no signup, on your own key. What the payment buys is persistence, the watchlist that re-scans and flags what is new, the thumbnail wall, CSV export and a local cache that survives closing the tab. Questions
Is this a subscription?
No. One payment of $49 buys the app outright, and nothing renews. There is no plan to cancel and no card kept on file for a future charge.
Is tax included in the $49?
No. $49 is the price before tax. Anything your location adds, sales tax in the US or VAT in the UK and EU, is calculated at checkout and shown in the total before you pay.
Are there running costs after I buy?
None to us. Bangermap reads the YouTube Data API on a free key you create in your own Google account, which comes with 10,000 units a day at no charge from Google, roughly 1,100 channel scans. We never bill for usage because the usage never touches our servers.
How many machines does one key cover?
Three at a time. Settings releases a machine and frees its slot, so the licence moves when you replace a computer.
Will this price go up?
Yes. $49 is the founders price for the first release. It rises afterwards, and a licence bought at $49 keeps working with no further payment.
Can I get a refund?
Write to support@bangermap.com and we will refund you. We would rather return the money than keep it from someone the tool does not suit. The full position, including the EU withdrawal right, is in the terms.
