Cadence moves before the numbers do
Channels rarely stop, they stretch. The gap between uploads creeps from four days to nine to three weeks, and by the time subscriber growth shows it the channel has been coasting for months. The gap since the last upload, read against the channel's own median gap, catches the stall early. In a rival that is your opening, in your own channel it is the earliest warning you will get.
How the numbers are computed
The analyzer reads the channel's last 100 public uploads and works on the publish timestamps. Uploads per week is measured over the last 90 days. The median gap is the middle value of the spaces between consecutive uploads, so one vacation does not distort it the way an average would.
Shorts and long-form are counted separately, since a channel posting daily Shorts and monthly long-form is running two schedules, and the month table shows how both moved across the last six months.
Questions
What counts as an upload?
Everything in the channel's public uploads feed, which includes Shorts and archived live streams. Private and deleted videos never reach the feed, so they are invisible here.
How far back does it look?
The last 100 uploads. On a weekly channel that is about two years, on a daily Shorts channel about three months, and the month table marks the months the window does not reach.
When is a channel counted as quiet?
When the gap since the last upload is more than twice the channel's own median gap. The threshold is relative on purpose, nine days of silence is routine for a biweekly channel and a stall for a daily one.
Is there a best upload frequency?
Not one number. The useful comparison is the channel against its own history, a cadence that holds is a system and a cadence that stretches is a warning.
